Road Restraint Systems are an essential road safety component on our roads. On motorways, they protect drivers from their human mistakes by preventing themv from hitting road side obstacles or crossing into the other carriage way and being a danger for other drivers.  They are designed and tested according to the EN 1317 and and up to a maximum of 38 tonnes.

Rising demand for goods and the need for efficiency gains have generated significant pressure on policymakers to increase the maximum weight allowed for Heavy Good Vehicles (HGV) circulating on Europe's roads.    A significant increase in the average load of HGV without implementing the necessary improvements on road barriers may entail safety risks for drivers on the road.
